New to board!
Hi everyone! I am a long time reader, first time poster on this board. I finally got a decent project truck, and I am excited to get going on it! I bought a 1970 Chevy C-20 truck today from it's original owner! It was bought and spent it's entire life in ND where I live. I have all the documentation that came with the truck originally too. Rockers are solid, wood bed in decent shape, interior is great, and other than the 1 driver front fender that is wrinkled, the body is pretty good. (at least for up here) I was wondering a couple things right off the bat....I want to lower the truck a little, put some fatter lower profile tires on,etc and was wondering if this is doable with a 3/4 ton? Also, I need a front fender and was wondering if 1/2 ton body parts are the same? and one more newbie question, what is the easiest way for me to switch to a five lug setup instead of the heavy duty eight? I have access to quite a few half ton parts trucks, hopefully alot of parts are interchangeable? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give, and for having such a great forum for all of us who love these trucks!

Welcome from PA. Can't help with the lowering but most body parts are interchangeable. The frame parts are not always as easy to change. I any body knows they are here on this board.

Welcome from Kansas!
Here is a link to a free download program for resizing pics, it is a good program, a lot of people here use it. http://www.irfanview.com/

randy is right on, a lot of parts will interchange even some suspension/brake parts clear up into the mid/late 80's trucks. some have swapped parts from even newer trucks.
when swapping over to a 5 lug front, you could get some dropped spindles along with a shorter coil to take care of the front. blocks or coils for the rear as well. how about some pics?
