99+ rear end work in a 97?
I HAVE A 97 CHEVY AND I BOUGHT A 99+ REAR END AND I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS IF THE LEAF SPRINGS MOUNTS ARE THE SAME AND IF I WILL HAVE TO RELOCATE THE SHOCK MOUNTS.
OR SHOUD I JUST TAKE OUT THE AXLES AND DISK BRAKE SETUP AND CANNABLIZE MY STOCK REAR END. I NEED THE 6 LUG AXLES AND WANT THE DISK BRAKES! ANY HELP IS APPRICIATED, THANKS |

They will probably work. Measure the distance bewteen the centers of the leaf spring mounts to be sure.

i did some measuring after i posted and everything looks to be close execpt the shock mounts are mounted at an angle. my stock ones are straight up, so im going to have to change the position on the shock mount, thank you for the response.
do you work at or own shamrock customs? ive herd of you guys. you did the work on a reg cab caddy clip purple and white flames silvi with 20's and spinners right? navigator back up and plate box in tailgate? if its you, great work |
