Going flat?

I am in the process of tearing down my 77 K20 to the frame. I am not doing a restoration or anything, just switching cabs fenders, and making it look prettier. Anyway, I was thinkin about the bed. Both beds I have are in kind of rough condition and was curious about making my baby a flatbed. Has anyone in here done this before? I have seen some really nice flatbeds driving around before, and I was curious what kind of project this would be. What do you guys think? How could I do this and what is a rough estimate on price? Thanks for your suggestions.
