Removing tailgate!
Hope this helps. Remove the two bolts in only one trunion and lift up on that side and it should come off. A word of caution. The bolts sometimes rust real bad and can cause problems. Example: anchor nut may fall off inside. Goodluck.

There is one bolt above and below the trunion but I can't get to the bottom one.
What do I have to remove to get to it? Tail light? Bumper? Thanks |

Taking the bumper off will give you access to the lower bolt. Depending on the bumper type, you may also be able to get to it from underneath with a universal joint, extension and ratchet.

I'm not sure if mine are different from everyone elses, or someone put a new style cup, but one of mine is round, while the other is more like a horse shoe. When the Tailgate is at a 45 angle, I can give it a good pull on the one side and it pops right out. Looking at mine, i have enouph room on the bottom to get an air rachet in there, but thats probaly about it with the bumber on. Hope that helps...
