Wheel offset
Is anybody running 17x8 rims on their 6 lug truck? Im looking at a set of 17x8 rims, but they have a +14MM Offset. Need to know the right offset for this size of rim for my truck.

you should be looking at about 4 1/2inch offset. the only thing i know about MM's is that they're in the candy isle

Yep, looking at my crusty trusty handy dandy conversion chart here. 14mm=.55118 or right close to almost 9/16".
This offset stuff confuses me too. An 8" wheel would actually be around 9" outside width right? The 8" is measured inside the lip? The offset is measured to the very outside edge?

That offset sounds extreme, regardless of which way it goes. What were they on before, assuming they're used wheels?
