can i haul it on top of my truck bed if so how did you do it?

I moved mine upside down in the bed of my cousin's Ranger. It was only about 6 miles, but it seemed fairly secure. I don't know if I would haul it along distance like that though.

Meathead, 1st picture is from post in my signature, 2nd was took on the way back from getting it last April, I transported the DW 170+ miles with out any problems.
I used a piece of C like metal, because I did not want to drill holes in my trailer bed sides. Used one long bolt at the front in to the stake pocket and a c-clamp at the rear to hold the metal down. Then just drilled holes for two bolts on each side to hold the top to the metal. Cut notchs where the indents were near the door and the hatch due to the upward edge of the metal.

SW I would have just c-clamped down. Main advantage was the bed sides are the same distance apart, may not be true if useing a newer Chevy to haul.

If you are going to use the 2004 Silverado in your sig I have a suggestion, just did it 2 days ago. You will need 12' of 2x4, 4 - 2" x 5/16", 4 - 5/16" nuts, 8 flat washers. Cut the 2 x 4 into 72" pieces then drill a 3/8" hole in the end of each 2x4 approximately 2 3/8" from the end (my top measured 67 1/4" center to center on the mounting holes). Then use a spade bit to drill deep enough to recess the bolt head and a flat washer. Place the 2x4's cross ways at each end of the top, run the bolts up from the bottom and secure with the washer and nut. Place the top on the rails of your bed with hatch toward your cab. The 2x4's will hang over about an inch on both sides. Using the tiedowns in the bed run straps over the 2x4's in line with the chassis. I also put one across the top on the outside, both front and back. Drove 300 miles and it didn't move at all. Take along 4 rags to put under the 2x4's where you set them on the bed rails. Two guys could lift it, best to have 3, don't try it with 1 man and 3 women

just get you 2 old tires and lay them in the floor of your bed and then then flip thetop upside down,on the tires,and tie down.
thats how i hauled the last on i got..
so how far are yopu hauling it??
