vacume leak?
can sombody tell me how too tell if my intake manifold has a vacume leak?

easiest way is with carb cleaner or wd40 while the engine is ideling lightly spray around the base of the carb and near where any gaskets are as well as the vaccum hose connections if the idel raises suddenly there's your leak don't get carried away it is after all flameable

this may sound silly but it has worked for me. remove the breather and place a rag over the carb. inlet .pull the biggest vac hose loose from its connection .If you smoke ciggs ,light one up and blow the smoke into the vac hose repeatedly until the chamber fills up. watch the hoses as you do this . dont pass out trying. ha. If any cracks or brittle hoses are there you will see them smoke.
