junkyardjohn, everything OK up there?

All I keep seeing in the local news are raging flames and stressed out firefighters. Where are you in all of that mess? You know where the waterfall is that they think the fire originated? Hope you are able to stay clear of any damage...sure would be hard to choose what truck to leave in should you get the EVAC order.

Keep us "posted" on the haps.

He says he's out of harms way for now. But judging from the 1000's lbs of guns and tools he has, if the JYJ estate goes up, it'll make the news!

YEP ... EVERYTHING IS O-K HERE, JUST SMOKEY & RAINING ASH ON EVERYTHING.
SACTO.. YES.. THE WATERFALL IS IN MY GIRLFRIENDS,DAUGHTERS, BEST FRIENDS , GRANDPAS BACK YARD. AT LEAST IT USED TO BE HIS BACK YARD. HIS HOUSE WAS WORTH WAY OVER A MILLION DOLLARS & BURNED TO THE GROUND. EVERYTHING THAT WAS FLAMABLE BURNED.
THE FIRE IS A GOOD 10 MILES AWAY. WEDNSDAY MORNING WHEN I GOT UP AROUND 5 AM THE FIRE WAS ABOUT 1 OR 2 ACRES. IT LOOKED LIKE 1 PLANE LOAD OF FIRE RETARDENT WOULD HAVE PUT IT OUT. THOSE MORONS DECIDED TO WAIT TILL 10 AM TO DROP ANY WATER OR FLAME RETARDENT ON IT. NOW AFTER THREE DAYS, 11000 ACRES & 27 BUILDINGS HAVE BURNED. OH-WELL JOHN

I live south of John about 35 or 40 miles, I work on top of the Mountain at the South end of Lake Tahoe. Last night ( 3:35 AM) while coming home from work, I could see the Magnificent Orange red Glow from the fire/s 40 miles away.....It had the main Hwy (395) closed the day before yesterday, then took a turn and headed back up the Mountains towards Lake Tahoe again..

They believe it was started by some young people partying......

As you go up the hill out of Carson, and drop over into Washoe valley.. It took some homes out in the south Washoe valley on the west side of 395. (One of the houses we made an offer on before buying this one ) It took a business out on the west side of 395 at the north end of Carson. Along with more up on the hill.. From there up the Mountain towards Tahoe.

John can probably give you a better update, I haven't heard anything more this morning/afternoon
