Help identify BB a/c bracket - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am looking for help identifying this BB a/c bracket. The motor in the picture is most likely a 402 BB, and it has an Edelbrock intake mounted on it. It is my understanding that the original a/c brackets for the 71'-72' 402's had a bracket that went over the top of the valve cover and attached/bolted to the intake. I am interested in the a/c bracket in the picture, because I also want to run an Edelbrock intake (which means that I can't use the factory brackets).

Anybody have any ideas. Obviously, I don't know a bunch about these trucks, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Heres a pic to help. If your not running tall covers I dont see why you couldnt use it.

Thanks for the pick. I really appreciate it. I have a question, though. Is that the stock intake, or an aftermarket? It looks stock to me. If it is stock, then that is not quite what I am looking for.

I am looking for brackets that would allow me to run factory a/c with an Edelbrock intake (just like the one in the pic I posted). As can be seen in my pic, there is no bracket that extends over the top of the valve cover. So, I am trying to figure out how the guy in the pic mounted his compressor.

Its a cast iron hi-rise intake that came from a 396 in a Chevell. The original was a low-rise. The bracket is 2 piecses.

I'm running an Edelbrock Performer intake and have the rear bracket as shown in 1-PU70's picture. As long as your not running tall valve covers the bracket will work just fine. Only issue is you will need bolts that are a bit longer. Think it was an extra 1/4" but it's been awhile.

From the looks of the original picture, the rear of the a/c doesn't appear to have any support whatsoever. You can use the original brackets with an aftermarket intake, you may have to hit the bracket with a grinder to clear the runners, but it can be used.

I apoligize for busting in on this! I posted on hear the same day asking about these and if anyone had one they wanted to part with. Unfortunently No one replied. By chance do any of you have an exrta one of the bracketts that go from the A/C over to the intake Manifold. I have the one that is mounted on the intake That it would attach to. Just a Gamble. Felt like rolling the Dice today. Thanks and nice Pics.
