Cargo panel templates---who wants one??
Kleantouch had a great idea to use butcher paper to trace the cargo panels I just got made. I am a drafter so I have some huge rolls of 24" paper I can trace them on. Are both sides exactly the same? I will be taking my panels off soon to get a upholstery guy to cover them, so I will trace them and I can mail anyone who wants a copy in a tube. I will check what postage and buying the tube will run and sell copies to guys just for the cost.
Anyone interested please reply here and write down your address. I will probably be able to get these done here within the next few weeks. Diane P.S. here is a pic of the panels- they are really perfect! |

Diane, great idea. I would be interested. I don't think my Jimmy ever had side panels so I could use templates when I'm ready for that stage. Let me know when your ready to trace them and what the packaging/shipping will be. My zip is 95628. I'll PM my address at that time.
Thanks

Okay guys here is the deal. My friend built these to fit in my blazer. They are EXACT...but my blazer has padding and carpet over the humps and padding and carpet on the floor. I will trace the exact pattern for you guys, but I just want you to know what you will be getting. Some work may need to be done to get the exact fit you may be wanting, but these will get you VERY close. Is everyone okay with that said? I took the panels out today and will be tracing them. Both sides are exactly the same, so I will just trace one panel and then you can cut that out and turn it over for the other side. Like a mirror image. I am thinking the .dxf file is a good idea, but I won't have the time to draw it anytime soon- so for now these panel template tracings will have to do. I am going to check here in the next few days for mailing costs, but I think the price will be minimal. (Maybe $5 for postage and tube to mail in at the most I think)
Thanks- Diane |

Diane, you should be able to mail in a manila envelope. Don't think it matters about creases.

Diane,
You can get Priority Mail boxes for free at the post office. They are triangle shaped, but long enough.

I will pm you also, I may never make the side panel but doesn't hurt to have the template just in case. Thanks!

Okay guys here is the list I have
Guys that have sent me their address : 1.Kleantouch 2.Meathead95 3. Onpman 4. RaggedJim 5. Frost89434 6. Yukon Jack 7.ljbear No adress yet: 8.MMGoodie 9. Charles Oliver 10. Nubomb 11. 71 Jimmy 12. Moodyholler 13. Earl87gta I traced all the templates this morning....they are the inside-side of the drivers side panel. Then you can just flip it over and use for the outside-side of the passenger panel...make sense? Again I will be checking on mailing them this week..I will make it the most inexpensive way, and is everyone okay with folding them in an envelope, or would you rather have them rolled up in a triagle or tube??? If it isn't much more money I will put them in the tube/triagle, because I think it would be easier to have the template not have creases. Anyone else want to be on the mailing list that I missed?? Hope this helps you guys out...I know I wasn't looking forward to making my cargo panels without a template---luckily my hubby's friend is a carpenter Thanks- Diane P.S. I do have a paypal account, I just need to make sure I can get paid thru there...never tried- just bought things on ebay with it. |

I don't mind the template having creases, can easily iron them out.

Hey guys- yeah I am still here...I need to get time to go check on postage. I don't know if you saw my post on the message board, but my husband just told me last Monday that he wants a divorce. Needless to say I am in complete shock, and freaking out. I will get this stuff handled for you guys and get a price- like I said it will probably only be a couple bucks, so maybe I will just package all the templates up and get them sent out. Sorry for the delay- I think my life is crumbling around me as I watch. He is taking the blazer and I am sad about that, but I am not sure what to do at this point.
Thanks for understanding- Diane |
