Great site here for me to get info. and give any if I can. Just bought a 68' GMC 2500, 305 V6, 4-speed, 4x4. It has 17829 miles. The mayor says it accurate. As I bought it from the village with a sealed bid of 1900. Its a little rough i think for being the village fire truck. It needs a clutch, doors need some work, seat needs a new cover. I'm not sure what to do with the bubblegum machine. I am going to attempt to attach some photos.

That fire department stuff will sell for a fortune on ebay. You'll probably pretty much offset the purchase price of the truck by auctioning that stuff off.

Nice find! Oh, and welcome from Ky. I've been dreamin of such a deal ever since I visited the fire dept by my brothers house in Cedar Grove Indiana where they have a 71 with a utility type bed that they use for a brush truck. Thing only had like 9k miles last time I saw it (couple years ago). Rust free, garaged for all it's existence! It's a beautiful thing!!!

Boooster truck Nice score. Does it have a Pto Operated pump? If so those come in handy for alot of things and to the right person would be worth some serious coin.

Those side rails on the bed kill me. Use what you have, I guess. That is one killer truck, though. I would almost be temped to restore it just like it is (firetruck I mean) and use her in parades and stuff. Or worst case, you could park up front in the fire lane when you go shopping!!!!

Great buy The body panels on that truck are incredibly straight. I guess no parking lot dings :- ) Look for the build sheet in the seat springs. Your truck could have been ordered with a special package, kind of like the old Civil Defense stuff that they did back in the early Napco 4x4 days. I am not sure whether GM converted trucks for fire departments or if an aftermarket dealer/supplier would have added the Fire Department options It may even have a DSO code on the glove box data sheet. As stated above look around locally for folks that might be able to let you in on the history. You might even come up with some photos of when it was new. Thanks for sharing you pics

I have a 68 GMC just like yours except it is a stepside. If you have any questions on that 305 V6, let me know. Saw a 68 service manual on Ebay today for cheap, I suggest you buy it.
