quiet mufflers??
I just put some dynomax headers and thrush turbo headers on my goodwrench 350, all coming out in front of the rear wheels and it is too loud for me. Does anyone know of any quieter mufflers for 2 1/4 pipes... I'm looking at hedman turbos or flowmaster 50s.... i just need something quieter.

I have Thrush Glass-Packs right before my Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers. Both are straight through design. Very quet while cruising but get loud only on full throttle. I like it.

Well i Know the flowmaster delta flow mufflers are said to be quiter than there other muffles so i think a 50 series in those would be pretty quiet. no personal experience, so not sure though.

go to local autoparts store and get generic "turbo" mufflers for $15-$20 each

The muffler guy I know says they will discolor the wheel if exhaust flows on them continuous, hence the reason why the fords in 1997 had the tailpipe in front of the tire and went to the back.. |

Dynomax 20"-case Turbo mufflers are quiet. PN 17747 is the 2.25" version. Summit PN is WLK-17747. They're a little over $40 each, but have a lifetime warranty from the maker, and a pair of them will handle over 360hp without significant restriction. An X-pipe would help, as each muffler would then see twice as many pulses (it's easier to muffle more pulses). An H-pipe would also help, but not as much.

After all the LMC bashing going on here I'm still gonna say it...
IMHO the best deal out there is the LMC complete dual exhaust package. I believe it is less than $200 shipped to your door. It bolts to your stock manifolds, exits at the rear or behind the rear tires like it is supposed to, and is quiet.
