Power Brakes
I have a '69 2wd 3/4ton Burb with Drum brakes in front and no power. I read about using a 3/4 booster versus a 1/2ton booster. What do I need to complete this conversion?? I am going to be changing to disc brakes in the future. Are the boosters the same for drum or disc?? The master cylinders are different between the two, but I will worry about that later...

3/4 ton boosters can be readily installed if you have the brackets and brake rod. You may find that your master cylinder will not bolt up to the booster, but I believe that it will. The booster will work fine with disc brakes when it is time to upgrade.
Adding power brakes to drums will help you stop. It will be a good thing to do. Jim |

You will need to find the correct master cylinder. I have a 69 GMC 3/4 with all four drums and it had no power brakes. I got the booster, bracket and replaced the master cylinder.

Do you happen to know the parts needed or part #s?? Is it a simple bolt-in??

It's pretty easy. Just unbolt the m/c from the firewall, unhook rod from brake pedal, install booster, stretch m/c lines long enough to bolt it to booster, and connect rod from brake pedal to booster.

Can I still use the same rod?? Does the hole that the rod goes thru the same size as the booster would use, or does it need to be enlarged??

You need the rods that come with the booster. Actually you need the rod between the booster and m/c and the rod between the pedal and the booster.

Your best bet is the parts board here.
