I don't worry about it. My truck is rusty enough that no one would want it. :p

I took kballan strategy one step further:
No cab = no steering wheel = No steering it around. A also removed the brake lines and the fuel lines.

Detachable steering wheel, kill switch, and crossmember on the ground. Most people around these parts know who it belongs too and they dont mess with it. :p

Hidden keyed switch for bags plus it doesn't hurt that the battery is dead.

I don't even bother locking my doors when its at the house, the dogs are my alarm, if anyone tried to sneak down the driveway in the dark they would go nuts, they won't even let other dogs come around the house without attacking them.
I don't have any kind of alarm on my truck at all. My friend had a clifford alarm from Best Buy installed on his camaro, he then bought a microwave sensor off of ebay so that he can leave his t-tops off and if anyone trys to get in the sensor sets the alarm off and then it pages the key-fob which has a range up to a 1/4 mile. Works pretty good too, it even alerts him if somebody doesn't set it off fully but it just beeps.

I let everybody in the neighborhood see me carrying all sorts of rifles, shotguns, string guns, and hand-guns from the house to the truck and back a few times every week. The dogs also pose a real health hazzard. When away from home i have a hidden ignition kill to calm the ponies.

I stuck to stock rally wheels which I kind of like anyway. Also, I have a CD changer and amp, but they are hidden and I have a rather plain looking cassette stereo. Every vehicle I have had stolen was for the stereo or wheels. I didn't worry about my current truck much when it looked like a rusty piece of crap. After spending several thousand dollars replacing body panels and painting it, I immediately got full coverage insurance on it. So now I still don't worry about it too much.

Well the sterio goes down when I get into a parking lot, no need to tell everyone I have a ton of sterio stuff. Also theres a fuel pump kill switch, a hidden fuse block to remove the fuse even if they do find the right switch [theres 4 total] if Im in a really ruff neighborhood, and then a typical alarm w/ starter kill.

I'll be using the VATS from the TPI. It'll basically work like a kill switch, but run through the computer == No hotwiring The plan is to build a small, removable chip that I plug into the fuse box that puts out the required frequency to start the vehicle, remove it, and the truck simply won't start, no matter what they do. Since I won't want to be pulling the thing in and out all the time when I am at school or something when I am moving the truck three, four times a day, I'll put a switch in as well, so I can just kill the sender, and have the truck not start. Eventually I plan to put a homemade alarm in with an obvious momentary switch under the dash, set it up so that my horns honk once every two seconds for one second until the hood is popped, and the hidden switch that turns it off is hit. I've got a buddy who is very good with developing stuff like that, and he says he can help me get it going pretty easily (use a signal light blinker, relay that turns on with input to one pole, and turns off with input to another pole, this way the theif can't just cut the switch wire to turn the alarm off) I think it should work quite well without spending lots of money

my antitheft device...never thought about, i just lock my doors, i have a toggle switch for the fuel pump sorta hiden, and then a cainpull switch for the TQ lock up, yeah im pimpin' with that pull chain. thats about all i have, if someone wants to steal it, have at it! i know exactly everything i have done to that truck, and with my battery in the bed(no bed cover) if i feel the need, just pull out the battery and stick it somewere, like under the truck or in the cab, no battery, no start.

yeah its always wise to either turn the system down when parking, or show off and bump bump bump then park somewheres else.

A guy on a local 4x4 forum had his toyota S-Runner pickup stolen, they didn't start it, apparently they rolled it out of the driveway silently and worked on his after they rolled it away.

ahh thats why i ALWAYS lock the steering wheel when i get out. i always throw the wheel to lock it and the shifter, and even if they get the keys, you gotta bang the shifter up to unlock the column even with the keys; most criminals would be too dumb to figure that out but the keys stay by my bed and we deadbolt our house. And my muffler has holes and the cat is clogged so it makes a nasty, unmistakable noise
