Do stock gauges have a "mechanical" tranny gauge? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a turbo 400 tranny. On the driver's side there is a line/hose that comes from the tranny and goes up into the firewall. Is this for the tranny gauge? Or am I completely off, and it's something totally different?

Sounds like your speedo cable.

There are no stock tranny temp gauges in our trucks.

hmm, now that I think about it I don't have a tranny gauge do I!!! Well the line coming from the tranny got chewed up somehow, and there appeared to be tranny fluid coming out of it, so that's why I thought it was a mechanical gauge line haha...

Nope, speedo cable..mine was leaking too. Just needed a fitting to be tightened down.

they have o rings inside and out that can get old and need replacing I just resealed my TH-350 Because there aint nothing worse than a transmission leak.

kickdown switch is on that side also.
