What kinda seats is everyone using, besides the original ones.

I just got a set of bucket seats from 80's something Grand Wagoneer, the price was right and plus both driver and passenger are six way power, they look almost like 69-72 truck blazer bucket seats,I plan on getting them redone in houndstooth, curious to see if others are using different seats besides the originals.I meant to post pictures but my battery was dead in my camera will post some later.

yeah I'd be curious too. I want to use some 90's model power seats from a chevy truck, but was wondering if anyone had used them or had suggestions. I need something besides the bench and the original buckets are too short for me.

I have a cloth 60/40 (40/60?) from a 93 C1500 extended cab.
Someday I'll get to sit in it more while the truck is actually running/moving.

here we go...I'm gonna use the stock bucket seats from an '80 K/5 Blazer that I got for FREE! thanks to 82 Silverado 4X. The only "flaw" (if you could call it that) is that they are upholstered in the "pizza hut tablecloth" red and white houndstooth,

Got 'em off Ebay for $179/pr + shipping. New take outs from a Freightliner. Used two sets of stock bench seat brackets welded to the frames. Had to modify the lever on the passenger side since it was originally a driver side lever.

I got a full 40/20/40 set off Ebay for $400 shipped, they're kinda gaudy, tan with red flames but my kid thinks they're the coolest seats ever (his exact words) and that's worth something right there

http://www.atthemart.com/acb/showdet...=1825&CATID=13

Those are the seats in black. The center seat bottom lifts forward and there's a storage area below that just right for 6 beers, er cokes, and a wallet and maybe some change. The back of the center folds forward with 2 drink holders and a junk tray (recessed about 1/2 inch carpeted).

My 72' K-10 SWB has a power cloth 60/40 from 98 1500 Chevy and my 71' C-10 SWB has a pair of buckets and console from a stolen 04' Yukon Denali...no I didn't steal the Denali. I scored these seats for a tile job...both power, heated, leather, incorporated seatbelts,....and even side air bags!!!

Yep I plan on a 60/40 out of a late model truck. I'm looking for something with a thinner seatback so that I can maximize the amount of space behind the seat for my stereo setup.

I'm using a Steel Horse seat that I got off E-bay. Nice and comfortable and has an air up lumbar support.

I'm using buckets out of a 98 dodge truck. They have the middle console that flips up into a seat that I would not want to sit for more than 2 minutes in :p

Love to see a pic of those Steel Horse seats installed...I almost went that route and may put them in my K-10 when the resto on it begins. How do you like them?

The seats fit good. I took the headrests off so I could move them back a little further for leg room. I do not have the tank in the cab so I can't tell you how much leg room you'll have if your tank is still in there. They sell a mounting bracket to mount these in our trucks. I'm 6'3'' and have taken a road trip of 1200 miles round trip and was very comfortable. I got my seats off I guy on e-bay. I bought a phatom grill off him and he offered the seats to me for 500. I have seen them in Summit for around 1200. They are leather.

Unhappy

Jay--It's none of my business, but having been rear-ended in one of these trucks a few years ago, I would strongly urge you to put the headrests back on. Trust me--that rear window really, really hurts and could be deadly!
In the "would you believe it?" category, it happened to my son also in his '72, although it wasn't as hard of hit as mine.

shhh, quiet, don't tell anyone. I have a bench seat from a '89 F150. fits real nice & has a large fold-down center armrest. makes for good posture & they are nice & firm yet soft at the same time. just goes to show that a ford can be worth something.

Is that not considered a 40/20/40? It looks like the same seat I have for my truck. Out of a 01Chevy. It's basically 2 buckets with a little jumpseat. I like them because of the shoulder belts built into the seat.

Palf70Step- Hey Bill can you post a pic of how they attach to the floor or give any pointers on that particular setup?. I have located that same seat and was curious what mods were necessary. Thanks.
