Gas Gauge Help?
My gauge reads over full all the time. I've checked the sending unit, and the wire to the unit, but I don't know what to do next. Any help?

Piper, try unhooking the wire at the sender, turn the key on,and watch the gauge. If the gauge doesn't move, then touch the wire momentarily to a good ground. This won't be the same resistance as the sender, but it should tell you if the gauge is working at all or not.If the gauge doesn't move either way,you probably have either a bad gauge or the wire could be broken or shorted to the gauge. If it does move, then more than likely it's the sender.Hope that helps.Lynn

Thanks for that tip! Should've thought of it myself, but that worked, and I discovered that my sending unit was bad. Threw another one at it, and BAM! The tank reads correctly. Whoduve thunk?
