I installed the vintage air sure fit kit in my previous truck (72 GMC) and it was great. Before that I had never worked on an a/c system, but the installation was simple and straight forward. The system performed excellent and I would highly recommend it. I am about to install one in my current project. I would also like to welcome you to Texas, and yes you will need an a/c, gets a little warm here.

I do not have Vintage Air.
I have asked several times on these boards for a template for the firewall to smooth it in preparation for a Vintage Air unit. I got no responces. So I contacted Vintage Air and requested information and/or a template, explaining that I would like to weld in metal to smooth and color paint match my firewall. Vintage Air told me to buy the kit. It comes with a plastic plate to bolt over the firewall. Perhaps they do not read well or understand my request but I thought I was very clear in wanting painted metal and not black plastic. If that is an indication of their customer service, I will look elsewhere. Just my experience. Could be a misunderstanding, could be they don't give a

Thanks Brian. I've never heard of OLD AIR but will check into them. Since I'm going back to Austin maybe they will have an outlet down there.

i seen a system in an old plymouth. The lines in the car were sweating into the floor. Not sure if this will occur on all vehicles if you get all the holes filled in but something to think about.

The thing I dont like about vintage air is the non-factory side vents, and the old air kit i dont care for because you cant use a stock ac style heater control(correct me if i am wrong). On the up side i like not having all of that ac/heater junk underneath the hood.
