Mounts on the frame??
Got a 70 stepside shortbed. I think it was originally a inline 6 with 3 on the tree. Theres some ratty thing in there now, but it runs decent. Hopefully that will be dependable enough until I can get a nasty stroker built for my s10 blazer, and my swap my current V8 into my c10.
Anyhow, theres these frame horns sticking off the frame, maybe 4-6 inches long. They are riveted on the frame, so Im pretty sure they were original. They're gonna come off, Im just curious to what they were for. Looks like there was some kinda crossmember there at one time. They;re on the frame, like halfway between the motor mounts, and the tranny crossmember. Pretty close to where the motor bolts to the tranny bellhousing. |

I figured so, but all the way up there? They're almost right at the firewall.

Sounds like it. With std tranny everything hung off of the bell housing. These are usually removed when doing the swap. John
