YOU PROBABLY NEED A NEW TURN SIGNAL SWITCH. MOST ALL OF THE VENDORS HERE , OR THE G.M. DEALERSHIP WILL HAVE THEM. THE FIRST THING I WOULD DO IS PULL OFF YOUR STEERING WHEEL, & CONFIRM IT'S CRACKED.

Mine was loose because of the "capture" nut to the screw that holds the turn signal arm had broken out of it plastic holder. By just looking at it, it looks like you would have to replace the column wiring harness to get that piece. I just put some super glue in the hole and tighten the screw up as much as possible. Hasn't loosened up yet going on 2 years.

I had the same problem.It was fairly easy to fix.I replaced the switch and was dreading it because everyone said it was a pain in the A$$.I think it took about 30 min or so.I have a standard column and just carefully bent the tabs out of the way on the wire cover.They make the switch assembly with the wires crimped but not installed in the connector so you can fish them thru easily.Then you put the wires with ends into the connector and plug it in.You will need a steering wheel puller.Other than that I think I used a 1/2 in.socket set ,a pair of needle nose pliers and blade and phillips screwdrivers.
The difference it made in the way the turn signals feel and operate was well worth the effort.I think I got the switch from Tim Christian and paid about $35.00 or so.

They make just the part your lever screws to for $7.00 you don't have to replace the whole switch.

do you have a source? I would love to find a way to get just the nut instead of having to replace the entire switch. The nut on mine is stripped out and I need to replace that... would love to avoid swapping out the switch if possible.

When mine was loose, it was because the screw holding the lever to the switch had stripped out the hole it goes into. No nut on mine. My solution was just to use a slightly larger sheet metal type screw. It cut its own threads, and tightened up nicely. That was about 5 years ago....still going strong.

the screw doesn't attach to the cancel cam , it goes to a nut behind it. Mine was stripped out so I got it fixed with some JB weld epoxy in the nut, on the screw, and on the back of the turn signal lever and the front of the cancel cam. So far it has stayed tight, hopefully will last a while this way.

Epoxy solved this problem for me also. Going on three years and it's still solid.
