New wheels...Old Truck
I purchased 2004 GM wheels and tires 255/70/16 for my 69 C10 (we area restoring) Chevy dealer said if bolt patern was same should fit. Bolt pattern is same...center hole is not. Any advice on adapters, spacers etc.?

The center hole is smaller, right? I read somewhere that someone had the same idea for using those wheels and had to get the center hole enlarged at a local machine shop. Not very expensive, if I remember correctly.

Gonna have to agree with Putter. I don't know if the backspacing is gonna be right either.
BTW Welcome to the board from South Mississippi! What part of the world are you in? Post some pics of your truck when you get a chance.

WElcome again from south Mississippi. Like what has beenmentioned you'll need to have the hub hole enlarged some and depending on the particular wheel you may have to much back spcing to fit the wheel on.
Before you invest too much, even though it is not much, I would measure the wheel's back spacing. I think about 4.5" is the most you can fit on a stock truck without headaches. But not Positiivte on that. They do make 6 on 6 wheel adapters that will but the same bolt pattern, basicly just a spacer to move the wheel out some which could solve the back space problem, if it becomes one.

Welcome from Northern California! Look on Ebay for the spacers. I found a lot of 8 lug ones. Haven't looked for 6.

if you get spacers, you shouldnt have to have the center hole opened up either

The info is wonderful...sounds like the spacers could solve a few problems...anyone aware of problems using spacers/adapters and where they can be found, I will look on E-Bay. Thanks again for all the help.
