Price value on 1972 chevy custom hood w/ loovers?
I have a 1972 chevy 4x4, it came with this hood that has 40 some punched loovers in it, realy trick looken but I'm going with a cowl hood. What do you think I could get for this hood. The man I bought the truck from said it cost around $12.00 a loover, but who knows.

It is hard to find louver punchers anymore. I took me a couple of years to find one in the DFW area. Do you have any pictures of it. With louvers the way it looks on the hood itself would have to be seen for a good estimate. It is such a visual thing to estimate because they come up for sell so seldomly. The guy to do my hood has quoted about 150.

I just saw a white short wide with a louvered hood yesterday. You don't happen to live in Bellevue, WA?

I was thinking of getting a louvered hood. The only reason I haven't gone for it yet is because I don't want rain on my motor.

You can seal the louvers with RTV from underneath. Jewels did that on hers. Ona driver, i wouldn't want the rain on the motor either, the engine paint goes to hell quickly if you don't seal them up.

Thats a big 10/4 on water damaging my motor. I want a cowl hood so thats why I'm selling it, but it looks sweet with the louvers. I live in Colorado

I think I would rather go with drip rails or something to catch the water before it hits the motor. I would still want the louvers open to release all the heat my motor makes.
