According to Mortec, the heads are closed oval port heads used on 68-69 BBC. A lot depends on what you are wanting to do with the engine as the compression might end up on the high side of 10 to 1. (Depending on the pistons that you are using).
The heads should run good for street use and if the rebuild is good $300 is not out of line for these heads, (at least around here). JIm |

Make absolutely certain that they have hardened seats installed. Jim is dead on ie the closed chamber vs. open chamber issue. If your running on an engine that's currently open chamber you might not want to run a closed chamber head unless you have easy access to high octane gas.

I agree with what everyone has said so far. The 063's are a great street head that will support 500hp easy for a street engine. If you have not built the engine yet, flat top pistons will be just right for pump gas. If you have any pop up on your piston now, compression will climb to over 10/1 and you would have to be sure your keeping the engine cool and not to tow so much/load the engine down or detonation will happen.
