Anybody here bagged a blazer?

I guess with my project(71 2wd blazer), I am going to start with the chassis...
which includes bags

I was wondering if I have to do a C-Notch?

If so...how do I make it so that the back seats still fit and what-not...
any help would be great...maybe even a few pics

thanks guys

Lenny

Yes you have to notch it if you want it to sit low, but I've built my notch and tub so it will fit under my back seat

Yeah, I would like to see a picture, if you can...

so, I can see what it looks like.

how much head room do you lose with the seats?

I figured you would have to cut the bed floor, and make it a little higher to cover the notch

This Blazer isn't even C-notched in the rear and it sits nice and low.

So, if it is not notched...then how did you get it so low?

From what I understood, you had to notch so that it wouldn't rub when you
let all the air out....

I am just trying to figure out the best way to lower it...

I know I want bags...because from what I know that is the ride quality is the best....

It's not my Blazer, simply one I saw at Super Chevy. I snuck a peek under it to look at the bag set-up, and noticed it wasn't notched. I was also surprised that it sat so low without a notch.

Trife, I just found a new website called webrodder.com that has some great tech articles. One is an Airride suspension swap on a c10 that should help with your blazer.

You have to join to get in but the tech articles are worth the trouble.

Here's a pic of the axle/frame area on the Blazer I posted before. Notice how low the truck sits even without a notch.

My blazer has about that much room also,... and mine bounces off the snubbers on most hard dips in the road. I really don't want to notch it, either. I have ECE's shock reloctors, shocks, adjustable panhard bar, and 6" drop springs. Does that blazer have bags or coils? Hard to tell in the pic.

Yeah, that definitely looks good...
I really didnt want to notch, if I didn't have to, and I am told
not to get that bolt in kit <shrug> I don't see why not, but oh well

The Blazer in the pic is bagged. Sorry the pic isn't better, but it was hard to get under it since it was so low.

I did CCPs bolt in notch and it was very simple. I personnelly wouldn't lower with out a notch. But I had mine bagged in the rear prior to the notch. I didn't like it. I wanted to drive with it at the height that it sat when the rear axle housing was sitting against the frame. But thats the beauty of these trailing arm trucks, so easy to throw the coils and bolt bags in and see how you like it. Then you can always notch later. But don't screw up like I did and get firestone bags they don't compress as low and lift as high as Slam Specialties or airlift bags.

We used the bolt-in notch (99.00) from CPP on my sons 71 and it was very easy. Quality and fit was great. I guess if you were worried about it weld it in after. Now we did have the bed off so that did make access much easier but I think it shouldn't be to hard on my Blazer. Just have to be a little more creative on using the grinder. I think with bags you almost have to notch it. I am doing mine in 2 weeks. so I will keep you posted.

Those are 20's in that pic. They have been sold though. If I ever get this thing finished it will be rolling on 22's. The rear floor will be raised a bit so I don't have to have a huge hump for a bridge. It won't be laying rocker, but it will be close enough to make me happy....

This is how the front will sit.....
