bracket
Is there an alternator bracket for a 350 with the long water pump that will put the alternator on the drivers side? The only ones I've found put it on the passenger side.

pump
Is there any advantage to using the long pump over the short pump? The new engine has the long and the old 307 the short so I could switch them.

The only advantage to using a long pump, is if your sb is mounted in I 6 position(the eng will sit 3 1/2" closer to the firewall). The long pump & accessories will get your fan into the shroud .....without 5" of spacers. crazyL

bracket
Don't know if you want a billet bracket but I have a long pump with the alt on the drivers side using a Zoops bracket. I'm sure there are other ones out there.

Why not just put the old short pump parts onto your new engine and keep the truck original?
Sure makes it nice to order the correct parts for your truck (belts, hoses, water pump, etc) when you need them rather than some mis-matched thing out of some other vehicle.
