Need help with bed removal on a fleet
Hey all, I am taking the bed apart to work on it some, then only to put it back together.
I have removed the tailgate, the floor of the bed (twas plywood.....first time I used an axe to work on a vehicle), and the bolts that hold the right fleetside onto the front plate of the bed that is next to the cab. On the very rear piece that sits under the tailgate, I removed those bolts and grinded off the tack weld that was holding it, but this SOB won't come off still. Is there some trick to this that I'm not doing? Anyone else ever had this problem? Thanks a million!

You didn't mention the wheel wells----inner fender thingy. They are bolted to the floor and to the inner rear quarter. There is also a splash pan behind the wheel that is bolted to a cross member and the rear quarter that needs to come off. There may be two welds on that rear tailgate pillar, one on the side and one more on the front side. Good luck----Huck
