What Do Ya'll Think Of My New Cowl?
Scored this cowl and a few other go fast parts Tonight Now im thinking on what would be the best course of action to install in it
The boy i got it from started caking bondo in the flage area if i can get it cleaned off and buff the piece i may just screw it down to my hood. Althou i had thought about glassing it on and smoothing it out. Last edited by 1972C10; 07-02-2007 at 01:13 AM. |

Replacing that windshield wont make it go any faster ..
I think its a 5 1/2 i layed a tape down on the hood and measured to the top and it was 5 1/2 Im thinking of cutting the front of the hood out to remove that one inch thick line Then weld some metal in and smooth it all up . |

I'd do that too, cut the shape of the cowl out, use some sheetmetal screws from the bottom up, grind em down, weld overtop of them to fuse them to the cowl, grind them down again, and smooth it all up afterwards...

You ever weld near fiberglass? Makes a slight fire.
I was thinking of taking a saw and sawwing that flange off and glassing it from the inside. A friend of mine said something that made a little sense .. He suggested cutting the hood out and mounting it from the bottom meaning having the flange on the underneath of the hood. I think im going to try to just buff the gelcoat on it and screw it down . After i submodify My hood so it will mount flat in the front. |
