71 lwb with big block. had small block, cut coils from 3/4t and 2 1/2 inch drop spindles. big block installed, and now sits too low!! drop spindles and stock coils are too tall. what are you guys with big blocks using for a 4'' drop in front? also, do i have to cut a full coil or can i cut one half of a coil? i was told there is an index in the frame pocket for the spring. what do you guys think i need?

Sounds like you need a 1 inch or 1.5 inch drop spring then.
See my picture below in my signature for my truck with 2.5 spindles and 2 inch spring in the front. Big block too. Does yours set much lower than mine does?

the truck is actually another guys and he was asking advise of me. yes his truck sits alot lower than yours(not roadworthy). aparently after cutting 1 coil and having the coils reworked at a spring shop hes dragging control arms.
even with the old set up it is lower than yours. im puzzled.

some vendors actually sell big block springs... you may want to look at early classic enterprises and such
