Good luck- Bad timing
Spent a day or so last week blasting my stepside bedsides down and found quite a bit of rust right in the fender mounting area. Wasn't looking forward to welding all that in but it comes with the territory(Iowa). Went to a swap meet this weekend and it was so cold everyone was wanting to get sold and otta there. I picked up some nice sides a good front panel and a Chevy (mine was a GMC) tailgate for $40. Hate to think of sandblasting again but it's gotta be quicker than my welding.

Shannon, you're getting by fairly cheap. I'm sure you wish you hadn't sold me your short box, but if it makes you feel any better I put a lot of work in on it too. I'm NOT complaining. I think you gave me a fair deal. I hope you feel the same way.

I thought the bed I sold was in pretty good shape but then again I thought this bed was in good shape till I started taking it apart. Hope yours went better!!. I bought this truck mostly for the bed and short frame and now have all different bed parts except the fenders. I got the whole truck for $400 with a good running 350/350 so not a total loss. My biggest problem is as you know I am a 72 man and this thing will be a 68. Love the 68 looks but want my disks,door panels,parking brake and floating gas pedal . Just to much welding and changing to accomplish all that. Oh well just put her together and be satisfied. It just makes me go slower(less excitement about finished project).

Shannon, yes, to each his own. I like the '72's also (bought a new 4x4 in '72). but now I prefer the '67 - '68 by far. I really like the sloped hood so much better. I don't care for the GMC grill in any year, though. Maybe we can share some parts or something. Dean
