Sierra Grande Longhorn?
I've seen a couple of 71-72 Sierra Grandes this past summer. How common (or not) are these trucks?
I'd like to find one to fix up once I'm done playing with my plain C/10. One was a '72 Sierra Grande 3500 (one ton) pickup. Anybody have any production numbers for these things?

I've got a 72 1/2 ton sitting here for sale. It's the Sierra Grande, bucket seats and console, tach dash.
I do see quite a few GMC but not the Sierra Grande. Don't know for sure about the production numbers but if its near the same as chevrolet, I've heard about 7% of the production each year.

I also have this 72 SG BB AC truck being listed for sale next week for $2,900 obo. So they are still around.

Both sound like nice trucks... unfortunately, Washington state is quite a far drive from here (just north of North Dakota).
I guess a Sierra Grande 1-ton Longhorn would be pretty uncommon (are the 1-tons really longhorns, or it is just the 3/4 tons?) .

Any one ton with a fleet side bed will be a longhorn...also the same chassis and body in a 3/4 ton would be a Longhorn too.

So the 1-tons also had the Longhorn script on the beds? Did the GMC's ever have the Longhorn script?

The GMCs weren't called Longhorns. They were caLLED custom campers...not to be confused with the custom camper option package that was just springs/shocks/springs/sway bar.
