Headliner Help
Got some new headliner material for my 85 burb. What is a good type of adhesive to use?

adh.
Use the 3M brand headliner adh. it costs a little more but you wont have to do it over.

Just to be sure.... 3M Fast Tack Trim Adhiesive 08031, 5 oz tube. If it is, how many would I need?

No thats not it. It is in a big spray can, Advance and autozone should have it on the shelf. Wal-mart even has it. You spary both sides , headliner board,and material. let setup for 10 min. then stick together. Follow can inst. It works great. Must get the 3m brand. Hope this helps,Erick I have been through this before and its not that hard to do it yourself and save a few $$$$$$$$$$$.

Tommy-
I bought the headliner material from Hancock Fabrics. JoAnn Fabrics carries it as well. It was a little cheaper from Hancock and a closer match with the original grey. Figure on anywhere from $8 to $11 per yard of fabric.

What can you use for the backing if yours is missing?
My truck has the trim for the headliner, but the foam and backing piece is gone.

guys have been known to use appliance boxes for the backer.
i got suede for mine at jo-ann fabrics. perfect match for the original blue, but it costs a bit more than the headliner material. |
