how will a static 6-8 drop be?
Im not real happy with my cut springs & am going to order 3" coils to go with my 3" spindles. How reliable will a 6" front drop be under normal driving? Ive had a few cars that were slammed & if I drove decent they worked ok but never had a slammed truck. I have 7" rear now but will go 8" in the rear if I can make the front work. Does anyone have any pics of a 6-8? Thanks...corn

Only thing to watch out for, is your LCA's...I have between 4"-5" in the front, and I'm careful, but have never hit anything.

I'm far from knowledgable about droppin', but if you wanna be that low, why not just go for airbags (other than the whole a$$load of money)? If being THAT low is such a big concern, go for bags.

timspeed - i know you have your truck dropped 5 inches in the front but for some reason you have a ton more clearence under your suspension than me. your tires are 1 inch taller than mine so your lca's should only be 1/2 inch higher, but you have about 1.5 inches or more clearence under your control arms than i do. mabey my truck came down a little more than 5/7 or yours didn't come all the way down to 5/7

yeah, I dont think Tims came down to 5"
Im gonna be at 5/8. my rear is gonne be VERY close with the 2" shackles, I took a look under there and when I flip it im only gonna have like 3" of clearance with the notch. My front will be ok, I have 2.5" (saggy) old belltech springs in there now. So with 3" spindles it should be sittin pretty. Hopefully Ill be able to order them soon with my thanksgiving bonus. Cant wait to be scraping with the best of em. Then the bug will continue to bite and im sure bags will follow.

My 79's lower control arms are about 1/2" or so lower then low 84's in that picture. I've also taken out 2 pair of control arms, somtimes you just can't avoid it. My truck has 3" spindles, supposedly 2" springs [swervin's old springs, and he thought they were lower then that too] and 255/60/15's. I drive it like this daily for the last 3yrs though, so thats less then a set of arms a year I also still take it off road on the mild stuff to paintball games, no probs.

Ive noticed that its real hard to tell what the drop is on some trucks. The owner will say some have a 4" front drop & it looks like some 6" drops & some say they have a 5" drop & the truck sits high. Mine has 3" spindles & one coil cut & there is still @ 3" between the top of the tire & the fender lip with a BBC engine. I guess Ill keep dropping it until Im happy with the way it looks...corn
