drive shafts
hi
new member Kinda new to these old trucks, whats the trick to removing a 2 piece drive shaft from my 1972 pickup? has 350/350, The back joint bad!, I'm sure theres a trick or way to get universal joint from rearend?With out fitting it? thanks for any help/replys Randy

It should unbolt from the rear, unbolt center carrier bearing from mount and pull drive shaft out the rear. It helps if the truck is facing nose down, the minute you pull the slip joint out of the trans it will leak fluid otherwise. Or just put a baggie and rubber band over the tailshaft. Be careful when replacing the driveshaft in the trans so you don't ruin the rear seal.
