What did you get done?

I was on call this weekend so I drove all day Saturday repairing video games. I did get a chance to go to the Houston Auto-Rama car show though. As soon as I get a chance to download my pics, I'll post a link. In the meantime you can check out the awesome show coverage that ChevelleChick put up.-Look Here!

What did you get done?????

scored 2 15x6.5 van rallys at the junk yard and painted them. stuck some 205/75/15's on them for the front. they are the same height as the 255/60's i had on there, just alot narrower. also took off the small chrome mirrors i had on it and put on a peep mirror on the drivers side only.

also bought a new Hobart 140 mig welder. with its help the truck is going to see some big changes this spring, including making room to fit something out back that will contrast those 6.5 inch wheels up front

I'm in the process of negotiating with a friend of mine to weld my repair / replacement rocker panels (inner and outter) in at some point. He is booked next weekend or two, but we're working it out. Bout time since i got the things over a year ago. Did some christmas shopping. We're working out my sister's first car, either a 1991 Toyota terDcell, its a POS, or a late 80s / early 90s Nissan Pathfinder that needs a tranny rebuild or major tranny work AL.
Here's a good pic of the driver side rocker (as is now). The passenger side is more inside rot rather than outside. And the pass. isn't so bad.

Let's see. The only thing I did related to my 85 was burn a Pink Floyd, Echoes mp3 CD. I went out to the shop, stuck it in the mp3 player. It played perfect and sounded great.

That's it.

My poor truck has got to be feeling rejected right about now. It sits in the shop all by itself. I probably average driving it twice a month if that much.

put christmas lights on the new house for the first time. DAMN!!! that 12/12 pitch on the roof is killer. I also finally wired in the electrical outlets that I installed in the eves of the house, so that I dont have extension cords running everywhere. All in all I feel luck that I escaped these chores without injury or mishap. Oh yeah I thought really really hard about working on the cab corners on the 68,..........but, I didn't do it.

Friday I worked on a board members computer most of the day. Saturday five of us Mississippi boys (Mostly 67-72 folks, Putter, EdB, Gman69, Krue, & me) met up and did some parts swapping, eating and truck BS'n. Had our unit's Christmas party last night and this evening was at another party, our Sunday school's "Christmas Party Before You Are Overrun By Chistmas Parties Party". Just finish my final term paper for school, so now it must be time to relax and get ready for another work week.

Only truck related stuff I got done this weekend was purchasing a quart of paint and clear for the engine. Non truck related, I celebrated my 31st B-day on Saturday with the fiance and my family.

Started lifting my blazer and putting in 8 lug axles. Also picked up the tranny for it so I can finally get the drivetrain together and get the thing running.

Sold my dual tank assemblies, front fenders, and 87' frame locally. I also made plans to backhalf my 1986 frame (My first truck) using Art Morrison frame rails. The project will be started in two weeks or so.

So much for keeping things simple.....

My friend found a hood for me on a 4x4 site. I bought it and installed it Fri. Now my truck looks like I'm a Raiders fan. Silver with a black hood. It is FUGLY. I cant wait until is warm enough to paint over it. I'm going to buy some doors from the same guy this week. Soon I will have power windows. This guy has a perfect '89 burb if anyone needs parts in Sacramento.

I worked on plumbing my EFI fuel system in my 84. Two things to say about it:

1. Braided stainless hose is a biatch, but looks damn cool when it's done.

2. Attaching hoses to pickup saddle tank senders without removing the cab and bed is also a pain.

Otherwise, it went pretty well, it's just taking forever. I'm hoping to get that thing running this week and I'd better since I actually have to start working next week.

nothing.......waiting on my 4" muffler to try to fit the exhaust under the K5. Tailpipe and up to the rear axle is done though, working towards the muffler from both ends. Then I get to build a 2.25" crossover that clears the front driveshaft.

washed/waxed the blazer, ordered a grill/brush guard, and kept looking for a reasonable priced soft top

Nothing.
New job is retail and the hours suck. My boss is so use to not having full staff that he is still scheduling 48 hour weeks. Hes also over compensating for the holiday shopping season. 7 Days between days off and the days off I do get it seems to always rain.

I was going to drive the Suburban too work to day since it has not been driven in two weeks but with the rain the ground is too soft to pull the 4Runner off the drive without trenching. So it will sit for a few more days.

I finally got quite a bit of work done on my truck this weekend. I got the trans all bolted in & my tubular cross member built. I got my new headers on, my single gas tank hoses on & got some of the engine wiring sorted out. I even degreased my HEI, polished it & installed a new accel module, MSD cap, rotor & painted the advance...corn
