Lowering blocks...

What is the max on can obtain with lowering blocks? I just recently swapped my leaf spring setup for a 1/2 ton coil setup and I'd like to drop the rear a bit more. I was thinking of using some 2x3x6(?) rectangular tubing and using the 3" side for the drop... If ok do I need to weld up the ends? or is 3" too much for blocks?

thanks!

as long as tghe blocks are strong, and you have U-Bolts, you can go as big as you want. However I wouldn't go over 4 inches cause then the trailing arms will hang really low. You can use that box tubing, but get 1/4 inch wall thickness and definitelly box the ends.

The problem with going to big on Your blocks is the u-bolts and or trailing arm get lower than the wheel. It will not be a good thing if You get a flat. You can get a good set of springs for around $100.00.
