You just need tires made for mud.

So when do the big lift and mud tires arrive?
Bet it was fun taking it off-road, I'm looking into building another blazer 'cause I don't take the 71 anywhere near possible carnage anymore. Nice pics, how'd you finally get out? |

Most 4wd vehicles,new & old,don`t go off-road.Old restored ones for obvious reasons.I have a flint-lock rifle I don`t hunt with.

Anymore I go off road if I need to get somewhere that the road doesn't go. I use to go out to see what the rig would do, but I found out I would go until I got stuck. I also found out I enjoyed doing it at that time. I still like being first tracks in new snow.

Nice Off-road Toy...ota.I still use mine, but not to the limit. My use of a 4wd would depend on the level of restoration. To do serious 4wheelin`I would build one just for that, like the little`Yoda.Otherwise, for me,it`s not fun enough trying to be careful.Unless it`s just to get somewhere.My`72 SierraGrande is used primarily to haul a lo-profile camper`cause I like finding secluded backcountry camping spots.I plan to build a 4wd shortbed with 6.2/6.5 diesel,1t axles/lockers,winch...for fun.

Never Gotten Stuck!
I have never been able to get my 1981 Chevy K-5 Blazer stuck know matter how hard I try, Trust me I've tried pretty damn hard. It's got a mild 4" SkyJacker supension lift currently running 35" BFGoodrich M/T's. There have been a couple times when I've been pretty close but, Anyways nice Blazers.

I live in Bone Dry [Mostly] Montana!
I live in Western part of Montana, There's always good wheeling in the spring, fall and the winter but in the middle of the summer it's just bone dry hill climbing and screwing around in a couple of gravel pits.
I have had water almost all the way to the top of my tires with decent mud under and still gave her hell and got out in 2 Wheel drive. There used to be a Bad A$$ place to go mudding but they put a big a@@ building up there now, so much for that. I guess I will try harder to get stuck, (I just got a decent 400 SB off of a buddy, I'm hoping to beef it up and rebuild it in the future. Then go with a new Turbo 350 with the B&M Shift Kit. A new 6"-8" of lift and some 36"-38" Super Swampers. I am betting that I will get stuck doing something stupid with this new set-up as soon as I get it all hooked up.) Although I almost got it stuck going through some 5 Foot snow banks. I came pretty close like 2 months ago when I was going like 25 and hit a big 4-6 Feet deep mudhole and my damn Blazer had to stall out in the deepest section. My little brother climbed through the window and got up onto the front bumper and got the carb. and airfilter cleaned and kind of dryed. Luckily my hubs were already locked because they were buried in the muck. Anyways we all mad it home safe so. 1 of these days but until then.......... -Later |
