bed wood installation
I normally don't do this type of work, so I thought I would ask here. I installed new bedwood in a 68 shortbed fleet over the Christmas holiday. Wood was already finished, truck only had about 1/2 the wood still in it. I removed those boards & installed his new wood, strips, bolts etc. Had to drill the holes in the side boards. Lined it all up correctly, looks good. I have done a couple of my own trucks & this fella asked me if I would do his. What is a fair price to charge? Brian

I'd go by how long it took you to do what you've done before, then figure out how much it's worth it to you per hour, and make the price fit. I really don't have any idea of a dollar amount. To me, it just boils down to how much is your time worth to you.

me and my grandpa did another guys truck for 1200$ canadian but we also had to buy the wood and finish it
he supplied the strips

I was thinking $200 labor + $20 for material, he was missing a few bolts & stainless are expensive individually, plus sealer I used between wood & bedsides, & the large fender washers I bought. I usually do mechanical work & there is a flat rate book. Brian
