Need Edelbrock #1406 Carb to pass emissions

Truck did not pass Federal emissions. Technician said the only thing to do is to replace the carburator and set timing. I know my carb needs rebuilt. (it leaks) If anybody has a new or like new carburator I'm interested. Need an Edlbrock #1406, 600 cfm carburator. Also anything else I can try to get it to pass? It failed on unburnt hydrocarbons. Standard is 900, my test was over 1500. Engine is a 350. Runs good. Does not burn oil. Mileage unknown.

Ive seen fuel addatives at auto parts stores that promise that regardless of your engines condition that you will pass emisions testing if you add XXXX. Ive never had to use these types of products but maybe the guy behind the counter can tell you if they work or not. Personally, i always make sure to take my vehicles to places where i know i will pass.

Do you have a 1406 now? If you do, buy a rebuild kit for $35 and do it yourself. Print out the tech sheet from the edelbrock website: http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/eps_intro.html and rebuild it yourself. It is very easy to do. The tech sheet will tell you how to tune the carb and give you better pictures to go by when you rebuild the carb. Good Luck!

I have got a used 1406 in my shop, been siting there for a couple of years. Will need a rebuild just from sitting so long uncovered. I worked well when i pulled it. Went to a 1407, more fun less gas mileage Anyways 50 bucks plus shipping and it will be yours.
