Great, wrecked my truck

I am so pissed. I was going down to the park right after school, where us high school kids go to hang out wehn school gets out. well right at the entrance there is this turn w/telephone poles on each side. I forgot to mention there is 2 inches of snow or more on the ground, and a lot of ice under that. Well I was going into the entrance and put on the brakes to slow down, they locked up. I cranked the wheel all the way left but it didn't do any good. I slammed into the pole on the right side of the road at about 20mph. i went forward and hit my head on the wheel and it went hard into my stomach and my buddys head hit the ceiling. I got out to check it out and I need a new bumper, front valance, possibly a core support, the bumper is crushed in half and is pushede back so far you cant open the pass. door and the hood is bent up too. i was able to drive it home but as soon as I got out and looked at it again i was immediately pissed off and started beating the wall outside my house as hard as I could. then i called my old man and told him what happened. he wasn't really mad, just glad i was OK and disappointed(it is actually HIS truck). He told me to not worry about calling mom cuz shed see it when she gets home. so i went back out and looked at it and proceeded to pound the hood in and in the process I got blood all over the hood.

so now i not only have a really busted up truck but im not sure i didn't break my hand.

yeah, i hope that truck is good to go by summer, but maybe ill be more careful w/it than i am w/my dads. how bad is your truck ocbaud?

BTw, i'll probably need some parts, but if I'm lucky a guy down the street from me should have several of the big parts i need to fix this. I don't know if he has an extra fender, but im sure he has an extra door and hood, or at least did last time i was at his house.

thanks for all the sympathy, hopefully all it'll need is a left fender, bumper, and valance, maybe a new hood but I'm not sure yet, the fender is bent so bad I can't open the hood or the pass. door.

Sorry to hear about the truck, but a litle advice before you order parts...you need a RIGHT fender (look at it as if you were sitting in the truck). I would hate to see you order a left fender, and get it, when you actually need a right.

the greatest thing i can think of right now, is that I don't know how I'm going to get to school now. maybe i can have it fixed before I start going back to my mechanics class on the 17th, otherwise I won't be able to go there either.

looking at the pictures, it's not that bad.. remove fender bang it out, pull out bumper.. at least you'll be able to drive it and open door..can't see any damage to door..that's my two cents..... good luck.. at least your not hurt..

looks like a grille is in need too. the hood you can prolly just bang down with a hammer and block of wood (to ballance force and not scratch paint).

the bumper i cant much about, i'd think that bending it back would mess up he chrome wouldn't it?

Yah, the fender is unfixable. the bottom front part is all messed up from the bumper pushing on it and it was even rubbing the tire a little. The door just has a little paint scratched offf and the fender is pushed up against it so I can't open it, and the worst part is the domelight is stuck on. the hood should be fixable though, its not too bad, pushed up maybe a little near the cowl and its bent a little on the side from when the fender bent but it should be all good. And the only reason it isn't driveable is because the truck uses oil quite quickly and the hood won't open. I could just get a new bumper, they aren't hard to find. And I think the valance is going to need to be replaced since the bumper bent it back too.

Oh, and the grille needed replaced before this wreck, its just worse now. When my dads work car was broken down he drove this back and forth to chicago every week until his car got fixed, and about the last weekend before he got his car fixed, he demolished a deer about 5 miles from home. Isn't that ridiculous? 180 miles between here and where he goes to work and he hit a deer this close to home.

I bought an aftermarket grille locally. It only cost $24, but I have not installed it yet. If it fits okay, that is a cheap repair.

lol, yah but I actually had quite the schedule planned for next weekend, I've got several people sending me payment for parts from my suburban so my dad and I were gonna tear most of the big/important stuff out of that so they would be ready to ship whne I got the payment..hopefully that won't be pushed back too far, thats probably where the money to fix the truck is gonna come from...lol
