8 lug wheel question
What is the bolt pattern on the 8 lug 3/4 ton wheels? I think it is 8-6.5 but wanted to know for sure. Also what offset looks good on these trucks? I have seen the brand new silverado wheels on our trucks and they look terrible because the offset is all off and I would like to avoid this.

I think the offset on the newer 8-lug wheels is actual the same (or very close to the same) as our original wheels. The newer ones are only 6.5" wide though, so they look as though they're inset too far on our trucks.

Yessir, the 8 lug pattern is 8X6.5". Almost any 8 lug rim will fit on these trucks.

Just watch out for those ferd rims, they are 8 on 170mm. On my 16.5" rims I have about 5" of back spacing while my 15" 8 lug rims the backspacing is just under 4".

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

 If you want to run stock hubcaps, the earlier Ford's are much better looking than our wheels. The Fords are wider & have more offset...See these wheels & tires for sale on the Parts Board later.

Non-GM wheels that start with an F and end in a d went to metric around 1996.Before that 8=lug wheels were standardized,imagine that.The above mentioned company had slightly larger center-bores at least at some point in time.Aftermarket wheels are all interchangeable,except those damned metrics.The wheels from late-model IFS have less "dish"/more backspace.They are the same width as earlier wheels.

Question on the non-GM wheels. Do any of them hold the same dimensions for hubcap mounting as GM? I need to find some wheels for my 52 3/4 ton, which takes a 3-1/8" setback to clear a tie rod end. The stock GM wheel requires a 2" spacer to fit. And I love the hubcaps.
