bikini top measurements and questions
First did any one every find out if you could buy the fastrac bracket that goes over the front windshield seperate?
Secondly I need to know the width and length measurements so I can start to make brackets for them. We need to come up with parts for my geometric variblity manufacturing lab to make on the CNC so I though I would make some stuff for my blazer. For another lab we get to use the new laser CMM. |

I was told by a couple people that they will sell just the bracket - I would probably tell them mine was damaged and needed a replacment when if I were to call and get one.
What measurements are you wanting?

I bought just the bracket a while ago. It was like $7 or something like that. I hope I can get a bikini top made for this summer.

I haven't gotten mine installed yet but here are a couple pics of the prototype tonyp and I got made - it is on his Blazer.
Figured some people may not have seen it when it was posted a while back.

The bikini could be ordered to attach with just snaps on the windshield frame or to attach using the existing Fastrac attachment point. Hopefully tonyp will let everyone know if this is still available. We just were helping to get this available and unfortunately I don't think many people bought one.
Here is a pic showing the design that attached with the track bar.

That's too bad not many folks bought them. I did and am very happy with it. So many responded to the original post, really surprised after all the work you and TonyP did you didn't sell a *hit load.
Anyway, for me, thanks again really appreciate it!!!!!!!

I emailed TonyP today, so I'll let you know what he says. I still had the order form from last year. Hopefully he will still make them.

Tony replied back and it looks like we may be in luck. This was his reply.
Jeremy, I have a friend that makes them up, I will check with him this week to see if he want to make anymore up. But that's what he does so I'm sure he's willing to make them... Tony

How does the track attach to the windshield frame---do you have to drill holes for snaps or something? I want a bikini top and can make it but am hesitant to do that till I can figure out how best to attach on the windshield. I hate the thought of drilling into a perfect frame for snaps. Huck

The track has holes for screws. You'll have to drill holes to attach the track and holes for the snaps on both sides of the track. I haven't done this yet, but I'm pretty sure a drill will have to be involved to run a softtop or a bikini top.

Either way you attach, track or all snaps, you'll need to drill. I ended up just doing all snaps. I think it only takes 3 or 4 more holes than mounting the track. If you add a softop later, how do you know your side snaps for the bikini top are in the same spot? Make sure to order you softop without the front snaps/track installed!!!!

71 Jimmy,
As long as I order the bikini top to work with the STC fastrac and don't install it until I get the fastrac I should be o.k. ordering it with the front track and snaps installed. Right?

NuBomb, yeah, as long as one of them doesn't have the hardware on and you install the one with hardware on first and then match the other you'll be alright.

Yep, the bikini will come to you without the snaps installed so you can be sure you get them exactly where they need to be.

Nothing since the 1/19. If you like, I can PM his email address to you. He last said he would probably check in on the site. Last thing was he was going to talk to his buddy who makes them.

cool I think I have his email, I will send him one see if it speeds up the process. Though I am not in that big of a hurry, I still have at least 2 months before temps will be high enough to let me drive it.
