Mold??

How woulr one remove mold from the paint of there truck?
I have not actually washed it as of yet with soap abd water, but I sispect that won't do much. I found brake clean does the trick, but I am not too fond of that...I'll use it if I have to, but prefer not too.
Anyone have any answers here?

Try a little polishing compound then follow with a good coat of wax. Should come right off. If not, step up to rubbing compound, but be veeeeery careful and don't apply it with anything electric for heaven's sake.

Andy, They have this antimold stuff at Home Depot, what they put in paint to help keep mold down. I mixed it in some water to clean the 82 and it did real well. Still required the spit and polish after the cleaning. It did not seem to damage the paint any (well not anymore than 20 years with no wax did).
You could also try that windex stuff that you attach to the end of the house that they use to clean house siding with. I have not used it but have known a few who did and they got about same results.

well..

believe it or not a mixture of cottenseed oil, corn oil and garlic oil in equal portions will get rid of mold. Mix it at a rate of 1-3 TBSp/gal of water in a hand pump sprayer, spray, let set a while rinse and wash/polish. I don't know what it'll do to paint finish though. I guess you could test it on a small spot of paint.

We know about that stuff up here in the North West, 1/3 bleach & 2/3 water in a small spray bottle, let sit about 5 min & rinse with water.
For Fabric mold use 100% simple green.

Common househole bleach works really well too. Just use some in the soap and it will take it right off with normal scrubbing. We get moss on our old trucks here...in fact they really don't have to be old...just let them sit out in the rain for a winter!

Cool, thanks for the tips.
I'm not too worried about the paint, the truck is in about 5 or 6 colors right now...but I don't want to cause any un-needed damage.
