What to do with a 3/4 GMC long bed?
New to this, and looking for some ideas and photos of how you guys handle this combination. I want a good stance, not slammed and need a daily driver.

I'm just gonna do a slight drop, where the wheelwell is slightly above the tire, and paint, and some creature comforts that will make it nice to drive. Some I have done already.
Already had Power Disc brakes, and power steering. I added a Tilt column, stereo, carpeting, wheels and tires I am doing a CD player, new seat, upholstered doorpanels, and maybe headliner, and swapping the 31x10.50 tires for some 60's of some breed, prolly 265-275 will be nice,I like the tall sidewalls Something like this photoshop version

Take a side pic and get someone on the Photochop board to play with it to give you some ideas.

I had a beautiful 1970 but three months ago it was destroyed in a roll-over accident while my daughter was driving. She's fine (scratch and a bruise).

first put chrome mods on it w/ 33 ground hawgs on the back, then go to the muffler shop and get straits ran out the back w/ some big ass echo chambers. tsc is close so drive down there and pick out dual antennas for your c.b. cab lights are also on the list (autozone). then get a sticker that reads " i love to eat GRITS " ( girls raised in the south). then proceed to ride around and rack the hell out of the pipes. No? well it was just a thought anyways!!!

Hey Dawg,
The best thing I can say about the previous owner is that even with the after market crap he added, the truck is clean and rust free, except for some on the drivers door. Of course, there was a camper...........and don't you like the big-rig hubcaps? Looks different today. aitch |

Well I've been known to take a trip or two your way every now and then aitch.I'll give you a holler when I head that way
Sharp looking truck though,I think a different set of wheel covers would help too,the big riggers don't look right,IMO. Anyway, welcome to the boards.

Concentrating on the new Stroker. Should fire it up tomorrow.
Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get the stance I want with a 3/4 with leaf springs. aitch |

I'm a big fan of the longbeds, please don't cut 2 feet out of it!
IMO, the longbeds just look balanced...SWB's are too stubby, but that's JMO.

Factory air, buckets, console, I couldn't pass it up for a 1K.
You gotta look at the potential under all that after market crap. I too like the proportion of the longbeds. No chance of a SWB. Thanks to all. This is a great forum! |

Is that a glass-pac peeking out behind the rear wheel? As the truck sits, now, with the two-tone deluxe factory look,I`d lose the flaps, caps, and bugger. Then, until you want to spend some money on at least wheels,if not a totally new look,I`d paint the wheels. For original,I`d say white But,original caps are tough to find and usually $$$.To me,I think to go with the look of that truck and not lay-out alot for temporary,I`d paint the wheels red,get`75-up caps, and then trim rings. Are they 16"rims?

I've removed the bugger, caps, flaps, bumper guards, window and headlight "dress-ups". The tripod camper mirrors come off next.
Yeah, the 8 lug 16's are a problem. Not so much in front where I've got some ideas, but the rear axle with the leaf springs still has me puzzled. Thanks aitch |
