How to swap in a 68 hood??
I currently have a 70 GMC, but I would like to know what item will have to be changed to go to a 68 stylr hood on my GMC or a 70-72 Chevy. Thanks ahead of time. Greg

To do it on your 70 GMC you will have to swap out the radiator support and switch to a 67-68 grill. That's the only "bolt-in" way. Otherwise you could modify the leading edge of the hood of the grill to make it fit. The 67-68 grill sort of hangs over. Same concern with doing the same conversion on a 69-72 Chevy.

I am not too sure how these pictures will show up but they will give you a general idea. You are going to run into similar problems on Chevy's and GMC's. There are additional fender/grill problems when switching over a Chevy but that shouldn't hurt you since you have a GMC.

So, with either Chevy or GMC, I need to change to a 67/68 Chevy radiator support and grille, then add the 67/68 Chevy hood. If adding this to a GMC the fenders are OK, but on a 69-72 Chevy I would also have to add the 68 Chevy fenders.....Correct? Doesn't seem that bad, and I think it looks better, especially with the 68 cowl induction hood.....ooooooooohhhh.

What you said is correct. You can use a 67-68 GMC hood as well.

Question,
What is the differences in the rad. supports from '68 to '70 and is there any difference between the '67 chevy rad support and a '68 GMC besides the twin headlights? Thanks, Paul

I think the hood latch on the rad support is different from 69 up. I am pretty sure the dual headlights is your only difference on the Chevy/GMC rad supports.

If I'm not mistaken, you can take the dual headlight brackets off the GMC support and put the single Chevy buckets on, just drill out the spot welds holding the brackets on.
