C Notching the frame
do u have to C-notch the frame on a 72 GMC sierra (1/2 ton) if u wanna lower it 4/6....i was talking to a guy today and he said he had no choice but to to it to his (2002) pickup because he kept bottoming out
please let me know, cause i wasnt planning on cutting my frame, i did it once to a 98' S-10 (c notched the frame and did an airbag setup with a 4-link...it was a pain thanks again Kevin |

If it's a coil spring truck, no, you don't.
The later model trucks like your buddy'd do need a notch for a 6 inch rear drop though.

Definitely call ECE and ask them. Those guys will steer you straight. They get the Tx Firefighter Stamp of Approval (TFFSOA, TM, patent pending).

Don't use a 2" drop shackle if you have a wood floor. That would be a huge pain. It will hit the wood floor. ECE sell's a 1.5 " shackle that's what you will need.
