where to mount a stereo?

Hi! can I get some ideas on where to mount a stereo in a 77 jimmy? I pulled the CD player out of my trooper when I sold it last month, and want to install it in my jimmy. However I really don't want to cut up the stock dash, right now I just used the stereo housing out of the trooper and fliped it upside down, and screwed it to the trans tunnel, I know its not pretty but until I come up with some other idea it's better than cutting the dash, any ideas or pictures would be appreciated and hope it keeps other from cutting up a cherry dash.

you can also mount it in your glovebox, a pain to reach over and adjust though.... of you could mount it the center console if so equiped.

I agree with prerunner. I'm mounting my CD changer in the center console. Even though I'm building a custom console, the CD changer would have easily fit into the existing console.
