Flat-bed wood

This might have been answered before and I missed it,but does any one know what kind of wood they used on the flat-bed trucks when they came out of the factory... .......Was it pine ?????????? Treated?????????Thanks............

Rene, The beds were all oak...just like this one! And yours better look this good when it is done! See me about how to do this...LOL...8-10 coats of McCloskey's Man 'O War Marine Spar Varnish. I should have showed you my woodwork today when you stopped by.

Helllllllll.....That wood bed looks like you could eat off of it..............I'd be afraid to throw any thing back there............ very nice........looks like I better keep my eye out for some oak boards...........

Rene, Either Orence1 or I can get you great prices on oak or other hardwoods in the area. Just let us know and we can fix you up. I am dying to do a nice wood bed in my Longhorn! The stepside is going to run without a bed for now I guess. Still working on the frame and box.
