I just don't get it. Maybe I am too old fashioned or maybe just to poor. But how do you spend 80K on a resto AND then sell it for almost a third of that and not end up in some asylum somewhere.

I'm not trying to crap on the truck, it looks very very nice, but unless there's something extremely valuable about it I just can't imagine 80K, even 32K in original expenses would be a bit "extreme" and I can't imagine paying someone this much for one of these old trucks for any reason (maybe a 50's model could get into this realm). I love these old trucks, and I always have but 32K? That'll buy a lotta brand new truck or a LOT of used nearly new truck or a lot of rebuilt restored, old truck.

You know the old story...It's the guy's with too much $$$, that spend too much $$$$ and then get bored and dump the end product of big loss $$$$.

These are pics during build up. It is completely finished and running, now...maybe less than 1,000 miles on it.

It was an original family truck, so he wanted it completely done frame up. The local Corvette shop spent two years on this truck. It was painted by the best custom paint shop in the region. Every piece on it was powdercoated (incl frame), chromed (orginal grill), or replaced new. The interior is leather.

He had it built to tow his family's boat. Guess what? He just bought a new boat so big that it has to be moved by commercial boat movers! So, I guess he doesn't need the old 72 GMC anymore.

I just thought you all would be interested in how the "other half" lives...not my half, for sure.

Geez I hate those high-mount street rod style alt/ac brackets. You put a sweet looking ramjet in there and block the view with those brackets and alt/ac....it's not like there's not enough room for the widemount style?
Yech!
