Smile I sold my 71 Chev K10 last week and...

Brought home a 72 GMC 3/4T 2wd tonight. One owner, so far rust free but I'll know more in the morning. It has the original manual in the glove box.
A guy I sold a tailgate and bucket seats to kept asking me to sell my K10 to him so, I gave it a good thought for 2 weeks and concluded that after 2 1/2 years of trying to get this truck to where I want it, it will never get there. The 4" tuff country lift and 33" tires on rallies made it look cool but too bouncy. Never 4 wheeled, and probably never will, so I opted for a more comfortable 2wd that I could use as a workhorse. Sold the K10 for $2700 and bought the GMC for $1800. For 2 1/2 years, I tried to learn everything about about my K10 and Chevy's, now I have to relearn this GMC. I had an eye on a Chev C20 but settled for this GMC. I'll post pictures when I get the chance tomorrow. What is the percentage on this board who prefer Chevy's or GMC's? Is there a preference?

I prefer GMC,they have prettier faces IMO.I love my 1/2 ton 71 but I find it a little weak in the back for working too hard, sure is more comfy than my 75 4x4,and I don't regret the trade at all.
I am going to lisence my 67 3/4 GMC for a work truck, once I finish some repairs.Lots stronger in the backend

I haven't paid too much attention to GMC's and still like the 72 Chevy look better, but hopefully the look would grow on me. I was thinking of putting my 72 Chev front clip on this GMC because of a dented passenger fender, front grill and front bumper but I was told the core support would have to be swapped also and I'm not sure I want to disconnect the AC lines. I guess I'll give it some time.

The GMC's with 4 headlights are pretty cool. However, my heart belongs to the 71-72 Chevy's. My first truck was a 71 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive (it was a 250 6 cyl with three on the tree, coils in rear and couldn't get out of it's own smoke).

Although I also like the both Chevys & GMCs, I really like my 70 GMC.
