BBC 8?qt oil pan FOR SALE

Factory 8 quart, (I think, might be 7) big block oil pan.
Good shape, needs cleaned some more. Just wouldn't fit my truck without crossmember mods.

$40 obo +sh

I'd assume from a truck but don't know for sure.
Don't think any cars ever came with more than a 5 quart pan but then I could be wrong too.

I am just trying to fit a Big block in a 4x4 truck, and I have been told I need a oil pan from a passenger car for it to clear the cross member.

Any experts out there know what this is out of???

If you're putting the BB in a 67-72 this pan won't fit without modifying the crossmember. That's what I got it for and it wouldn't work. I was in a hurry and didn't want to take the time to mod the crossmember so I just used the stock pan.
If your truck is 73-87 it'll probably fit. I think that is what it is originally for.

That looks just like what I have on my 454. Mines off a 1975 3/4 truck with a 454.
The dealer told me it holds 5 qts, 6 with filter

This one is a 7-8 quart pan. I'm not exactly sure which but I do know it's more than 6 with the filter.

I use SB mounts in my truck and have only seen a pic of the 72 style BB mounts once. The 72 bb mounts look to me to be just like the 73+ clamshell type mounts. I could be mistaken on that though.
I have no clearance issues at all between the pan and crossmember with the sb mounts and a "normal" 5 qt bb oil pan. The deep part of the sump on this pan is considerably longer, (towards the front) and a about an inch deeper IIRC.
The 73+ trucks have a different crossmember design that gives more room for the pan sump to be longer.
